ABOUT

This piece is a visual essay written for Issue 02 of Paramtric Press, an online publication "dedicated to showcasing the expository power that’s possible when the audio, visual, and interactive capabilities of dynamic media are effectively combined."

My story, Tiny Algae and the Political Theater of Planting One Trillion Trees, explores the positive potential of using algae as a method of fighting climate change.

I conducted all research for the story, combining multiple datasets and academic sources to summarize the latest research on algae as a means of carbon sequestration. I think designed and developed visualizations for the piece, as well as an "interactive explainer" which shows why relying solely on trees for carbon removal may not be the best plan.
